I have struggled to find the right bedding for all seasons; I want to be warm in the winter, which is quite easy, but cool in the summer and still under a cozy blanket. I have found the solution: Nest Bedding’s Silk Cloud comforter and the Washable Wool comforter! Purchasing two different comforters for different seasons is the best way to ensure that these two very different needs are met.

In the summer, the Silk Cloud comforter is absolutely ideal for people who sleep hot yet want a cozy blanket . Instead of being filled a warm substance, this comforter is filled with tufted silk that is breathable and cool. The outer layer of the comforter is made from 300 thread organic cotton. Conventional cotton is very heavily-sprayed with pesticides, so your choice to purchase organic cotton makes an important environmental difference in the communities where cotton is grown.
In the winter, my preference is Nest’s Washable Wool comforter. Wool bedding is a favorite in cold climates for a good reason! Naturally warm and cozy, it will keep you warm on the chilliest nights! While wool can actually be used in any season, I find the weight of this comforter more suited to chillier weather. Encased in organic cotton, this comforter can be used alone or with a cover, since it has corner loops that can accommodate a duvet cover. Remarkably, this comforter doesn’t require dry cleaning!
The Silk Cloud and Washable Wool comforters require different levels of care. The Washable Wool comforter can be washed at home! Using cold water, wash it on the gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Hang dry or use your dryer on low heat. While the Silk Cloud can also be washed at home on the gentle cycle, it is better to dry clean it.
These lovely comforters are an excellent addition to any eco-minded sleeper’s home. There are thousands of reviews from satisfied customers, most of which are 5 star! There are two that really resonated with my experience:
About the Silk Cloud:
“I will probably leave this comforter in my will for my children. It’s so lux. I am in love.”
About the Washable Wool:
“We have had this comforter on my children’s bed for 3 months. It is by far the best blanket in our home. It is extremely warm without being excessively bulky, and it looks luxurious. We live in California where there is little insulation in the old homes, and this blanket has been a game changer. In time, I hope to swap more of our comforters out with these. Being from New York state, this blanket would handle freezing temps like a champ too.”
