Overall Impressions
The Live and Sleep‘s medium-firm feeling will be ideal for stomach and back sleepers. Even as a side-sleeper who prefers a softer sleeping surface, I found that the Live and Sleep had excellent pressure relief. A classic memory foam mattress can often leave you feeling like you are “stuck” in the mattress but the Live and Sleep feels like you are sleeping “on” the mattress instead of in it. Memory foam often gets a bad rap for trapping heat and sleeping hot but the Live and Sleep was surprisingly cool the entire evening, even on the hottest summer night!
Construction
The base of this mattress is 8.5 inches of high-density foam, followed by 1 inch of gel-infused memory foam. Twelve luxurious inches of memory foam are then covered by a soft, breathable cover that is beautifully-designed. Their materials carry the Oeko-Tex and Certi-Pur certifications.
Motion Transfer
I slept on this mattress next to my husband and the motion transfer was extremely minimal even though he moves a lot in the night!
Off-Gassing
I smelled very little off-gassing when I opened this mattress and that smell dissipated after a few hours.
Edge Support
When I sat directly on the edge of the mattress, it compressed a bit. However, when laying on the mattress, there was very little edge compression. Couples will find that they can use the entire surface of the bed for sleeping and those who often sit directly on the edge of their bed will find the support average in comparison to most other mattresses.
Does it Sleep Hot?
The Live and Sleep slept very cool, even on some very hot summer nights, due to the one inch of gel-infused cool memory foam inside the mattress. People who love the feeling of memory foam but hate sleeping hot will find the Live and Sleep to be an excellent solution to waking up hot in the night.
