Emma, the German mattress company that debuted in 2015, has released their all-foam mattress in the American market. Apparently, Europeans sleep, on average, 15 minutes more than Americans per night. Is it because their mattresses are so comfortable? Perhaps! There is a lot to love about the Emma!

You will like the Emma if:
-You want a mattress that is on the softer side of medium
-You like to sink into your mattress, but not feel “stuck” in it
-You are looking for something without springs and is all-foam, making it lighter-weight.
Overall Impressions
The Emma is an excellent choice for side sleepers since it is on the softer side of medium. Softer mattresses are good for side sleepers because they allow your hip and shoulder to sink into the mattress, leaving your spine aligned. As a side sleeper, I am very sensitive to pressure in my hips and the Emma offered excellent pressure relief.
Construction
The Emma mattress has a 12 inch profile and has three layers:
Comfort Layer – The top comfort layer is 1.5” of Airgocell foam
Contour Layer – The contour layer is made of 2” of memory foam, which side-sleepers often love.
Foundation Layer – The foundational layer is 8″ of very dense poly foam, which gives support and foundation to the mattress.
Motion Transfer
I slept on this mattress next to my husband and the motion transfer was very minimal; I did not feel any movement while I was asleep, and I am a light sleeper.
Off-Gassing
I smelled absolutely no off-gassing when I opened this mattress and this is probably due to the fact that the materials used in this mattress are Certi-Pur certified.
Edge Support
Bed-in-a-box mattresses often get a bad rap for edge support since they are compressed and packaged for compactness. The Emma’s edge support was moderate; when I sat directly on the mattress, it did compress quite a bit. However, when I was laying on the mattress, it only compressed slightly. Couples will find that they can use almost the entire surface of the bed for sleeping.
Does it Sleep Hot?
The open-cell structure of the foam used in the Emma mattress allows heat to escape easily instead of trapping it. I slept cool the entire night.
Don’t Just Take My Word for It
The Emma has over 400 enthusiastic reviews from their consumers, including a sentiment I can really identify with: “I sleep best when the mattress is soft, and this one just molds to my body.”
Trial, Warranty and Pricing
You can sleep on the Emma for 100 nights and decide for yourself whether this mattress is for you. It comes with a 10 year warranty and will run you 899 for a queen-sized.
