You will like the Allswell if:
-You are looking for a medium mattress that is on the slightly firmer side.
-You are a budget-minded consumer
-You are of average weight, or looking for your child’s first “big kid bed”
Allswell sent me their mattress and it came very quickly with a shipping speed of only a few days! This mattress would be especially good for back and stomach sleepers since it is slightly firmer than a true “medium” mattress. This mattress’ individually wrapped coils gave it an overall supportive feel with good pressure relief at my hips. The bed is 10 inches high and a this low profile would be fine for sleepers who are petite or of average weight. It would be especially suitable for a child’s first “big kid bed” since many children are stomach sleepers and need a slightly firmer sleeping surface. Lastly, its fantastic price point of 345 for a queen makes this an affordable option for the budget-conscious sleeper.
Construction
The top layer of the mattress is quilted with a special cooling foam that made the mattress sleep quite cool. The mattress is also made with individually wrapped coils, which gave the mattress a good bounce. In addition, it contains Certi-Pur memory foam which allows you to sink into the mattress, but only a little bit; it did not give me a “sinking feeling”.
Motion Transfer
I slept on this mattress next to my husband and the motion transfer was very minimal. I felt very little movement while I was asleep, and I am a light sleeper.
Off-Gassing
I smelled absolutely no off-gassing when I opened this mattress and this is probably due to the fact that the foam in this mattress is Certi-Pur certified.
Edge Support
Bed-in-a-box mattresses often get a bad rap for edge support since they are compressed and packaged for compactness. However, this mattress had surprisingly good edge support; it was constructed with extra support around the perimeter of the mattress. It did compress a bit when I sat on it directly but you will find that you can use the entire surface of the bed for sleeping.
Does it Sleep Hot?
The Allswell slept very cool due to the CoolFlow foam used in the top layer.
Don’t Just Take My Word for It
This mattress has over 300 reviews from their consumers and has earned an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars. One reviewer included a sentiment I can really identify with: “There’s no sinking feeling, we don’t feel each other moving around at all, and it looks great. Do yourself a favor and try one of these mattresses out. For the price this simply can’t be matched.”
