Real Bed is a green mattress that comes in at a surprisingly economical price point. Real Bed has earned remarkably rave reviews, most notably from the Today Show. Does this mattress live up to all the hype? We have discovered one of Sustainable Slumber’s favorite mattresses!

Overall Impressions
Real Bed is a very good choice for eco-minded back and stomach sleepers since it is quite firm and it uses materials with prestigious environmental certifications. A plush pillow top can be ordered as an optional upgrade to make the mattress’s profile higher and to give extra cushion. I ordered the topper and loved how much I sank into the mattress! Side sleepers who like a more plush surface would enjoy this upgrade.
Construction
The Real Bed has a 12 inch high profile, 14 inches if the topper is used, and has many different layers. The mattress has an organic cotton cover and wool, latex, springs and rayon.
Motion Transfer
I slept on this mattress next to my husband and the motion transfer was minimal. I did not feel much movement while I was asleep, and I am a light sleeper. The Real Bed was recently named “Best Bed for Couples” and the minimal motion transfer is a big plus for those who share a bed!
Off-Gassing
I smelled absolutely no off-gassing when I opened this mattress and this is due to the fact that this mattress uses such eco-friendly materials.
Edge Support
The edge of this bed compressed a bit when I sat directly on it, but couples will find that they can use the entire surface of the bed for sleeping because there is no compression when you lay flat on the mattress. 
If you order topper, you lose a bit of edge support but I was still comfortable while sleeping on it.
Does it Sleep Hot?
The Real Bed slept very cool; the cover was remarkably breathable and did not trap heat.
Sustainability
This company has an impressive list of environmental certifications! Their mattress is made materials that carry the prestigious GOTS certification. This mattress contains products that are Oeko-Tex certified. Their source for rubber is FSC certified.

There is a lot of buzz around this mattress due to its appearance on the Today Show!
